MASKS

The tribes wear masks for initiations, ceremonies and to represent spirituality.

STATUES

They are often carved from wood, clay, metal and stone.

BASKETS

Utilitarian uses and decor are the main functions of baskets.

JEWELRY

Wearing African jewelry brings luck, wisdom and status to the owner.

BEADWORK

Artists use beads in conjunction with African pieces including masks, tables and dolls.

INSTRUMENTS

Music is an integral part of ceremonies performed by the tribes.

African Tribal Art

African Tribal Arts are amazing works of craftsmanship by talented artisans. The sculptures and masks are individually carved and represent the African customs, lifestyle, religious beliefs and daily tasks. These are used for ceremonies including initiations, marriages, deaths, connecting with spirits and coming of age for adolescents.

Displays & Designs

Beautiful and decorative pieces are shown throughout the gallery. There is a wonderful selection by various tribes originating from different African countries. On display there are masks, sculptures, baskets, jewelry, photo prints, clothing, and other handmade African goods. Our videos of tribes dancing in the Ivory Coast can be viewed when visiting our gallery. Our pieces are in beautiful condition and ready to purchase.

Curated Crafts

The owner Judy Dinnerman travels to Africa yearly to visit the tribes and shop at the craft markets. On these trips Judy selects the pieces for her gallery. Judy makes purchases directly from the tribes during her African visits. Her involvement with the tribes allows her to learn on a deeper level about each piece she acquires. The entire store has been curated by her and her passion.

Passionately Selling African Art Since 2014

African art can be spiritual, emotional, and representative of various customs and traditions. Many pieces are designed to represent the culture of African people and the past of the different tribes. The beauty in African art is aesthetically shown in common place happenings such as birth and death. This culture uses art to channel spiritual power beyond the visual world, and to guide one's life through the existing world.
